Our Mission:
Educate.
We teach people how to be better - less anxious and more effective - patients.

We at Rayna Cares are extremely cautious about making any claims that our educational materials are actually therapeutic. However, there is no denying the growing body of anecdotal and clinical evidence that anxiety and stress do play a significant role in the disease process – although as noted above, real clinical trials are still largely wanting. On the other hand, there is strong evidence that active patient participation in the health care process has real medical, social, individual and economic benefits. We believe that Rayna Cares can play a significant role in this new paradigm.
Most people in the United States, and much of the rest of the world, will at some time in their lives be told by a health care professional that they have a serious illness. While there may be hundreds of specific diagnoses, the individuals on the receiving end have something very distinct and profound in common: a sense of vulnerability, relative powerlessness, and mortality—often mixed with dread and a high degree of anxiety. Of course, the circumstances differ with the specifics of the individual and the diagnosis, but each of us who have been there knows the sense of being dropped out of our ordinary reality into a life experience that we call ‘patienthood.’
